Review (by Malcolm Storey) | This is the companion volume to Wallace et al, 1990: "A Key to the Case-bearing Caddis Larvae of Britain and Ireland", but has a different layout. The main key is mostly dichotomous, but occasionally tabulated characters are used. The key is followed by taxonomic notes on the species which should be checked to confirm (or otherwise!) the initial identification. A table on page 107 gives the width ranges of the head capsule for each instar. The second half of the book concerns the biology of the species. |
