Review (by Malcolm Storey) | Keys to species of adults of both sexes and nymphs longer than about 5mm are presented. These are to be used in conjunction with the drawings. In the adult key, each species entry includes a short account giving wingspans for each sex, season, frequency and habitat. Vice county distribution maps follow the nymphal key. Reprinted in 1984. |
Examine | Stereo Microscope |
Specimen Preparation | Specimens should be killed in 70% alcohol, and stored in fresh alcohol or 2% formalin, both with 2% glycerin to prevent drying out. Genitalia often needed for small species but these are visible externally so no special preparation is required. |
