Review (by Malcolm Storey) | This was my first "proper" flora bought with the money earnt from my first saturay job in Woolworths. I used it for several years and learnt a lot of plants from it before I switched to CTW. Consequently I should have a soft spot for it. Unfortunately this isn’t the case. It’s overblown (large print, thick paper) has poor quality print, and the descriptions are inconsistent and badly proof-read. And somehow the drawings never seemed to show enough detail or the features you needed. The good points: the drawings show seeds and roots, both difficult to find in other illustrated works. |
