Review (by Malcolm Storey) | An early monograph covering our entire basidiomycete mycota based on the Friesian classification. Keys to families and genera, and partial keys to species. Each genus starts with an outline drawing. The book is based on the preparatory notes for creating and displaying a large permanent exhibition of coloured drawings at the British Museum (now the Natural History Museum.) Mainly useful now for the translations of the scientific names. Can be downloaded from BHL. |
