Review (by Malcolm Storey) | The well-illustrated key to ichneumon subfamilies is followed by the subfamily accounts. Each account starts with a photograph of a representative in lateral view, then goes on to summarise what is known of their biology, including further photos, especially in the larger subfamiles, and gives references for taking the identification further. This latter may fill half page of tight text and be somewhat overwhelming and indigestible. A big improvement on the Perkins (1960) key to subfamilies! |
