Review (by Malcolm Storey) | Consists of a large number of accounts of various genera or small groups of species which are difficult to identify. The accounts are by a variety of specialists, some previously published elsewhere. The work is intended to augment rather than duplicate Stace’s New Flora (1997 edition), so the accounts of some groups that appeared in earlier works have been removed. Replaces and updates the 1988 Plant Crib, Wiggington & Graham’s "Guide to the Identification of some of the more Difficult Vascular Plant Species" and "The BM Fern Crib". Highly recommended as a source of uptodate information when Stace’s New Flora lacks sufficient detail. It is especially useful for vegetative material, hybrids etc. The problem, as always with such works, is knowing when to consult it! The accounts for most of the genera are available for download from the BSBI website, and many have been updated since the original publication. | ||
Errata, Corrigenda & Comments | P76: peduncle lengths for *Quercus robur* and *petraea* are reversed.
