Notes:
Cap: "umber" in centre, paler outwards and less red: "snuff brown", margin "fulvous".
Gills: young "G" to "H" (mustard coloured) maturing to "H", colour much less bright in artificial (esp. fluorescent) light.
Flesh: in cap: dark "olivaceous buff", speckled "straw", becoming "grey olivaceous", "brown vinaceous" under cap cuticle; in stipe: dirty "luteous", lined "straw" at cortex, greyer towards base to "grey olivaceous".
Taste: slowly bitterish.
Spore print: "fulvous"
Spores: 7-8.5/4-4.5µm, punctate, slightly rough on outline under x100 objective.
Basidia: 4-spored.
