Notes:

Among 6 flies displaying on fermenting sap run on birch stumps cut one month ago.

In some individuals the abdomen was quite brightly red-tinged beneath towards the tip.

Upper side generally dark in life, and in alcohol; the abdomen paler than the thorax; eyes black in life, red in alcohol.

8 rows of acrostichals.

Maxillary palp with one strong terminal bristle and a shorter subterminal.
