Notes:
Cap: centre squamulose, almost black; elsewhere dark brown, radially fibrillose, becoming weakly virgate, paler towards the margin, not pellucid striate.
Stipe: pale steel grey, bluish smokey, base with white tomentum.
Gills: pale, edge concolourous or slightly dirty..
Spore print: BFF: "Cinnamon"
Cap cuticle: repent hyphae with inflated terminal cells, with vacuolar pigment, end cells to 23µm wide.
Gill edge: with abundant cheilocystidia.
Cheilocystidia: to 40/14µm, clavate, hyaline.
Basidia: 4-spored, unclamped.
Spores: 10-11/6.5-7µm.
