Notes:

Thallus sparsely branched, elliptical to circular in section, tubular, with mucilage-filled central lumen. Nerve absent.

Outer layer: cells 7-12µm diam, with parietal chloroplasts.

Mid layer: tetraspores 40-65µm diam, cruciate, in matrix of cells similar to above but larger, ≤30µm.

Inner layer: with hyaline thin-walled filaments, 8-15µm diam, septate, branched, enlarged at branching points ≤30µm, with intermixed commensal diatoms.
