Notes:

Infected leaves standing proud, erect, infected margins becoming recurved, silver then brown.

Ustilospores: variable in size and shape, 11-15(17)/10-13µm, finely echinulate under x40, with discrete warts under x100 oil immersion. Host cells with blackened walls (under microscope shaped like a capital "I" in a serif font)
