Notes:
Cap: <=140mm diam, white, slightly scaly, very slowly turning yellowish when bruised, with triangular, appendiculate veil scales.
Ring: membranous, pendent, with cog-wheel below.
Stipe: 33mm max diam, shortly rooting.
Giils: pale brown, not white edged.
Flesh: turning weakly yellowish, especially in stipe base.
Smell: slightly inky.
Spore print: dark "cigar brown".
Spores: 6.5-7.5/5-6µm.
Basidia: 4-spored.
Cheilocystidia: obclavate to cylindric or fusiform, often with a small papilla which is often separated by a septum; up to about 25/10µm.
