Notes:
Spore print: white, amyloid.
Stipe scales: filamentous, pale sepia hyphae run up the stipe and terminate in a complex mass of short, mid-sepia cells. No basidia.
Basidia: 4-spored.
Cheilocystidia: cylindric, often capitate, sometimes with a septum.
Pleurocystidia: pointed, with swollen base (Urtica-hair-shaped), crystal-tipped, 60/10µm, tip 5µm wide.
Spores: hyaline in water, just slightly roughened on outline under 100x oil immersion, 7.5-8.5/4.5-5µm. In Melzer’s Iodine showing amyloid plagiar halo and warts.
Site revisited on 6 Nov 2014; several relatively fresh fruitbodies. More photos and specimens.
Microscopic examination of a couple of wood fragments showed they were broad-leaved.
