Notes:
Smell: cucumbery; iodoform on drying.
Spore print: white, amyloid.
Spores: broadly ellipsoid-dacroid, with a single large oil drop, very variable in length, 9-11.5/6µm, strongly cyanophilic (rapidly staining in lactophenol cotton blue).
Basidia: mostly 4-spored, a few patches of 2-spored.
Gill edge: faintly yellow, not always visible.
Cheilocystidia: sphaeropedunculate, warted, up to 80/45µm, but mostly smaller eg 65/22.5µm.
Cap cuticle: more or less parallel, radiating, thin-walled, hyaline, filamentous hyphae 2-4µm diam. with superficial branched, coralloid to cylindrical end-cells 1-2µ diam., overlaying cellular flesh.
