Notes:

Mediastinal vein fades away before costa, but doesn’t seem to fit either M. albitarsis (halteres blackish, tarsi all black) or M. nigrohirta (too large, too early).

Halteres dark grey; prothorax with pair of bristles; occiput sooty-black (?); acrostichals quadri-serial; legs black with yellowish knees; dorsum with three dark stripes; middle femora with a single row of evenly-spaced PV hairs, a subterminal PV seta, a few AV hairs towards base and a row of 3 small AV setae towards the tip, the last of which is subterminal; front coxae dark-haired; basal joint of hinds tarsi with 2 PD bristles; prosternum with patch of dark hairs; abdomen dark silvery-grey, glossy.
