Review (by Malcolm Storey) | A set of 1350 drawings of British plants published in 31 parts between 1948 and 1973 (plus index published 1974). The drawings are beautifully executed and scientifically accurate. For each species she depicts the whole plant in situ, a portion in close-up, and the flower, fruit and seed. There are also numerous detail drawings such as leaf, petal, sepals, flower section or other dissections, stem segment and section, seed surface detail etc. |
