Review (by Malcolm Storey)

Measured strength of attachment to kapok fibre and settling times of marine spores of various shapes.

Large, appendaged spores attached to the fibre extremely efficiently and settled out rapidly in the absence of fibre. Smaller, appendaged spores attached less efficiently, and were slower to settle in the absence of fibre. Mucilaginous spores fell between the two in efficiency of attachment, but settled out less rapidly in the absence of fibre.
