A very common species with a tubular green thallus contorted like intestines, hence the English name: Sea Gut. It characteristically forms large floating mats in saline drainage ditches near the sea, but can be found in a range of habitats from saltmarsh to sea shore.
Not formerly distinguished from Enteromorpha intestinalis.
