Notes:
Group of stalked apothecia arising from a buried sclerotium.
Sclerotium: soft, black, white inside.
Ascospores: with two oil drops, up to 15.5/5µm, cylindric, tapered at one end, basal spore in ascus often longer, narrower and more tapered than others, occasional spores septate (3 seen, 1 in ascus).
Paraphyses: narrow, cylindric.
Ascus: 8-spored, pore blued for full length.
The spores seem rather narrower than expected for this species. B&K: 12-16/6-8µm, Dennis: 12-17/6-9µm, Ellis & Ellis: 12-16/6-7µm, Kohn in Hansen & Knudsen: 12-17/6-9µm.
