Notes:
Ligule: a short, fimbriate membrane, slanting on top leaves, but symmetrical on lower leaf.
Auricles: yellow and slightly swollen.
Leaf: strongly ridged and shortly hairy above, smooth and shortly hairy on lower side, hairs longer on upper side towards edges, with 1,2 or or a few long hairs towards base.
Spikelets: 2-flowered, axis continuing shortly beyond 2nd flower.
Glumes: lower with 2 veins, upper with 1, green along centre, hyaline towards margin, purple tinged, shortly acuminate.
Lemmas: with three strong veins, but otherwise similar to glumes.
Paleas: hyaline, with two strong veins and two points.
Anthers: 3, 2mm long (still slightly immature)
