Notes:
Leaf spots: 1.5-3mm diam, round, often confluent, sparse to numerous, covering the whole leaf, or just the part not underneath adjacent leaves.
Upper surface: black with purple sheen; centre with small, diffuse, slightly depressed, brown spot, especially in larger leaf spots.
Lower surface: brown, with black margin that varies from narrow and sharply defined to broad and ill-defined. Occasionally with clusters of conidiophores emerging from stomata in brown area.
Conidia: clavate-cylindric, 1-4 septate, 27-57/4.5. Conidiophores brownish, scars evident.
