Notes:

Apothecia <0.3mm diam, pale, erumpent, with sparse erect hairs arising from brownish patches on sides of apothecium (reminiscent of Anthracobia but with proper hairs); on under surface of dark brown necrotic areas beside yellow patches on fading leaves.

Green, yellow and necrotic areas of leaf often peppered with small brown holes from an unknown cause. These holes often go right through the leaf and apparently contain no fungal material.

Asci: weakly, diffusely blued at thickened tip (pore not visible), 52-60/11-12µm, ascospores biseriate,

Ascospores: 17-20/5µm (measured in ascus), curved-fusiform, +/- centrally-septate but not constricted (or maybe just with two large vacuoles).

Paraphyses: exceeding asci, divided twice dichotomously, tapering downwards from apical section which is 2-4µm wide.

Excipulum: round, thin-walled, hyaline cells.

Excipular hairs: projecting 40-47µm, c. 4µm wide, grey, thick walled, becoming thin-walled towards 3µm wide tip; 1 septum in lower part, another septum at base, +/- parallel sided, slightly swollen at base and arising from a layer of dark grey, spherical to pyriform cells, c 8/6µm diam.
