Notes:
Thallus: granular, pale bluish green. Young thallus with well developed pale prothallus with grey-brown zone-lines.
Granules: smooth, but with rough patches of soredia.
Apothecia: brownish black with brown proper margin when young.
Phycobiont: pleurococcoid.
Ascospores: usually with two vacuoles so appearing septate, constricted, 12/4.5µm.
Asci: apical half thickened and strongly blued in iodine, the blue area continuous over the apex in typical Fuscidea fashion.
One thallus with area of pycnidia: ostiole open, dark-lipped. Conidia minute, ovoid.
