Notes:
Apothecia: golden-yellow; densely clustered on, and hiding white subiculum; disc applanate to concave, especially when young, often with slightly protruding margin; turbinate; smooth.
Paraphyses: cylindric, 4µm diam., tips curved over, apex slightly expanded, 5µm diam., sparsely septate, branched at base, contents orange, becoming multi-vacuolate, contents staining dirty green in Melzer’s Iodine.
Asci: 8-spored, with lid, apex not staining blue in Melzer’s Iodine.
Ascospores: fusiform, thin-walled, ends slightly thickened, with a cluster of oil drops in centre, hyaline, smooth walled, 25-27.5/9µm diam..
