Leaves weakly greyish mealy beneath.
Seeds held vertically, surface shallowly reticulate.
This is the growth form that has been called Chenopodium rubrum var. pseudobotryoides Syme.
John Akeroyd says "I think you have Chenopodium rubrum L. var. pseudobotryoides Syme, which is a phenotype that appears as pools dry out (analogous variants can be seen in Rumex maritimus and R. palustris). It’s often much more reddish in colour, and in coastal sites hard to separate from C. chenopodioides (C. botryoides)."
