Notes:
8 cocoons collected 18 Jan 20, overwintered outdoors, under hedge. Brought indoors on 3 March. Host mycetophilids (Mycetophila dziedzickii) emerged 4 March & 6 March (see 18 Jan 20[A]).
Emerged 5 March.
Measurements on fresh specimen: length: 3.8mm; ovipositor (sheath)/fore wing: 0.412; malar space/face width: 0.35.
Measurements on set specimen (25/4/20): forewing: 4.0mm.; ovipositor sheath: 1.67mm; ovipositor (estimated): 2.0mm; ovipositor sheath/fore wing: 0.417; ovipositor/fore wing: 0.5.
Apparently not Aperileptus albipalpus (too dark) although it keys to this in van Rossem.
