The commoner of the two common grassland Lissonota with completely dark bodies and deep mesosulcus, fundator" is distinguished by the deeper mesosulcus, although this is comparative and intermediates occur. The males usually have yellow markings on the fore and middle coxae and trochanters which are lacking in impressor.
