The less common of the two grassland Lissonota with completely dark bodies and deep mesosulcus, impressor" is distinguished by the mesosulcus being less deep, although this is comparative and intermediates occur. The males also lack the yellow markings on the fore and middle coxae and trochanters of fundator.
