Orbilia (glasscup discomycetes) may be included in identification literature listed under the following higher taxa:
NBN (data.nbn.org.uk) has a distribution map for Orbilia (glasscup discomycetes) |
BioInfo (www.bioinfo.org.uk) has 101 host/parasite/foodplant and/or other relationships for Orbilia (glasscup discomycetes) |
Identification of Orbilia largely depends on ascospore characters and it’s often very difficult to find any. As soon as the apothecia start drying out spore production ceases, so it’s best to examine finds while still fresh. Apparently some mycologists kit out a camper van as a lab and take this on-site.
