A small pale Eccilia with an opaque, pale, slightly depressed to deeply umbilicate cap, broadly adnate to decurrent gills and a white stem. This latter separates it from the commoner E. undatum. Found in mossy grassland, esp if slightly calcareous, but also in Sphagnum bogs. Previously known as Eccilia cancrina.
