DD
A common and rather variable Cortinarius toadstool but usually pale coloured, quite slender and graceful. One of the many species with ochre cap and blue gills when young. It is mycorrhizal with various forest trees, epecially birch (Betula) or in calcareous grassland with Common Rockrose (Helianthemum nummularia). Forms with this latter host have been called Cortinarius epsomiensis.
